About Relevant


Relevant Church is a growing community of people learning to follow Jesus together. We believe life is found in Christ, and our mission is simple: to proclaim Christ so others can live complete in Him (Colossians 1:28).

Whether you are exploring faith for the first time, returning to church after time away, or looking for a place to grow deeper in your relationship with God, you are welcome here.

At Relevant Church, our desire is to help people encounter Jesus, grow in authentic community, discover their purpose, and live out the life God created them for.

In Colossians 1:28, the Apostle Paul writes:

"He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ."

This verse shapes everything we do. Our desire is not simply to gather a crowd, but to see lives transformed as people grow into the fullness of life found in Jesus.


Our Story

Our Story

Relevant Church began with a simple calling: to help people in Southern Maryland discover Jesus and grow in Him.

Pastor Mark and Christine White have served in ministry since 1997 in a variety of roles including youth ministry, young adults, and pastoral leadership. After planting and leading a church for more than a decade, God began stirring their hearts toward a new work.

In 2020, through prayer drives, conversations throughout the community, and a growing sense of God’s leading, the vision for Relevant Church began to take shape.

Relevant Church officially launched in September of 2021. Since that day, we have seen God bring together people from many different backgrounds, building a church centered on Jesus, rooted in Scripture, and committed to helping people grow into maturity in Christ.

We believe God intentionally places people in our lives. Our heart is to share the love and truth of Jesus with the people in our everyday world.

Partnership — Every Believer Is a Minister

The church is not built by a few people doing ministry but by every believer discovering their role in God's mission. At Relevant Church, we partner together to serve and build the church.

Authenticity — Grace and Growth

We believe God meets us in our brokenness and leads us toward healing and transformation. This is a place where honesty, grace, and growth walk hand in hand.

Family — From the Cradle to the Rocker

Church is more than a place we attend. It is a spiritual family where every generation is valued and everyone has a place to belong.

Relevant Church is part of The Wesleyan Church, and our beliefs are rooted in the historic Christian faith.

We believe:

• The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God

• Salvation is found through Jesus Christ alone

• Every person can experience forgiveness and new life through faith in Him

• The Holy Spirit transforms believers to live holy and fruitful lives

• The Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ

Meet the Pastor

Pastor Mark & Christine White

Mark and Christine have been married for many years and have served in ministry together since 1997. Their passion is to see people meet Jesus, grow in their faith, and discover the life God created them to live.

After years of ministry experience and church planting, God led them to Southern Maryland with a vision to plant Relevant Church. Their heart is to build a church centered on Jesus, grounded in Scripture, and committed to helping people grow into maturity in Christ.

Mark and Christine love serving the church together and are grateful to be part of what God is doing through Relevant Church.
